Teacher's Assistant Special Education
We are looking for a responsible and compassionate teacher’s aide to join the team at our growing school. We are the only ODEW STEM Designated school in Licking County and focus on providing an innovative and inclusive STEM education.
As a teacher’s aide, you will work with students and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. Our ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, flexible, and knowledgeable about educational best practices and child development. Experience with Autism and students with disabilities preferred.
Teacher’s Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with implementing weekly staff morale activities
- Assists with implementing schoolwide behavior and social-emotional programming.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers, intervention specialists, support staff, instructional leads, administration, and other school staff to develop and maintain a school culture and climate that maximizes growth of every individual.
- Implements student support in one-on-one, small group, general education classroom, and special education classroom settings
- Fosters a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school climate conducive to student growth that is consistent with the school’s mission and holds students to high expectations.
- Provides reading, math and tutoring as well as behavior support.
- Provides classroom accommodations that align with student IEPs, 504 plans, and Functional Behavior Plans.
Teacher’s Aide Requirements and Qualifications
· Possession of a valid State of Ohio Teaching Assistant or Paraprofessional license
· Must pass background check and drug test before starting employment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
