Intervention Specialist

Do you have a passion for educating and inspiring excellence? Intervention Specialists perform a key role in preparing our students for success. We are looking for a highly driven intervention specialist for K through 6th grade to join our growing school in the 2025-2026 school year! This position would primarily focus on push-in and pull-out services.

Located in Newark, Ohio, Par Excellence STEM Academy offers an inspiring and challenging educational environment for elementary children. We are the only ODEW STEM Designated school in Licking County. Through our unique curriculum, learning approach, and community commitment, Par Excellence students are able to flourish, both academically and personally. We focus on providing an inclusive STEM education where all students develop the skills necessary to thrive in 21st century careers.

Key Credentials:

• Standard or Alternative Intervention Specialist Licensure (mild-moderate or moderate-intensive), valid in the State of Ohio or Building Substitute--Education Unlimited license.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education

Ideally You Will Have:

• High level of critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Experience with collecting, documenting, and using student data to drive interventions and instruction
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skill in exercising tact and discretion when communicating with students and parents
• Passion to inspire and motivate all students.

• Dedication to collaborating as part of a solutions-focused team.
• Willingness to lead both in the classroom and out, building a strong alliance of mutual trust and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to enhance educational strategies.
• Provide direct support to students, including tutoring and mentoring.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Pay: From $48,040.00 per year
