About Us
We are an independent financial planning firm affiliated with Cambridge Investment Research. Our mission is to help individuals and families make smart decisions about their money through thoughtful financial planning and investment management. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student to join our team as a Financial Planning Operations & Admin Intern for Summer 2025.
This is a hands-on internship designed to give you real-world experience in the operational and administrative side of the wealth management industry. You will work directly with our senior financial advisors and support staff in day-to-day business activities, gaining valuable exposure to the inner workings of a financial advisory practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist with day-to-day office operations, including managing calendars, confirming appointments, and preparing client correspondence
Support onboarding of new clients by preparing paperwork and organizing client files
Enter meeting notes and action items into our CRM system (Redtail)
Help plan and follow through on marketing and client service campaigns
Participate in project management tasks, assisting with timelines, deliverables, and check-ins
Coordinate logistics for client meetings and internal team meetings
Organize digital records and help maintain a smooth operational workflow
Provide exceptional customer service support via phone and email when needed
What We’re Looking For
Strong attention to detail and organization
Comfortable learning and using new tools and systems (CRM experience is a bonus)
Great written communication and note-taking skills
Friendly, proactive, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced environment
Interest in business operations, customer service, or professional services is a plus
Professional, reliable, and trustworthy – you’ll be working with sensitive client information
Internship Details
Location: Hybrid (Partial in-office in San Ramon or Castro Valley, CA + partial remote)
Schedule: 10-20 hours per week
Duration: ~3 months (with potential for extension)
