Fiscal Department Internship

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this internship position is to provide a structured and meaningful learning experience for individuals interested in gaining practical skills and knowledge within RCMA’s Fiscal Department. This internship aims to offer exposure to real-world scenarios, projects, and tasks relevant to the field, enabling interns to apply theoretical knowledge gained through academic studies in a professional setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:

 

  1. Assists in the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of financial statements.
  2. Collaborates with team members to process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Assists in conducting audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  4. Aids in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Provides administrative support to the fiscal department as needed. 
  6. Work on a variety of projects.  

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty element satisfactorily while exercising independent judgment and discretion under the general supervision of the Controller. The individual must meet age, medical, moral, character, and any other requirements as defined by Florida Statutes. REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • HSD or GED 
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.   

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

  • Desire to gain work experience in all aspects of accounting, including account reconciliation, budgeting, presentation of information, analysis, projections, and internal controls.  
  • Desire to pursue a career in a nonprofit organization, government agency, or similar environment.
  • Desire to work in rural communities.
