Supervises: Assists Assigned Students
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-time
Compensation: $17.50 - $18.50/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, between 7:30a - 5:30p, 40 hours/wk
Summary
The Curiosity First Early Education Program is hiring experienced Childcare Aides to provide a high-quality early childhood educational experience for young children and their families. Educators at Curiosity First Early Education Program use their experience and knowledge of child development to ensure that each child’s cognitive, physical, emotional, language, and cultural needs are met. The education staff at this program provide a well-rounded education for each child by developing partnerships with parents and achieving curriculum standards.
Qualification:
- Minimum Education
Associates degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field + 6 months of experience
Or,
Child Development Associate (CDA) + 2 years of experience
Or,
High School Diploma or GED + 5 years of experience
- Minimum Experience
6 months of experience working with children 0 - 6 years old in an Early Childhood Education setting.
CPR Certification - pediatric first aid; and pediatric, child, and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Job Function and Responsibilities
- Assist in providing classroom support, management, and supervision of all assigned children.
- Assist with implements of the High Scope curriculum.
- Contribute to the lesson planning process.
- Conduct large and small group activities in partnership with the Teacher.
- Assist the Teacher with collecting evidence of the children’s learning.
- Assist with child assessments as needed.
- Implement all program health and safety standards.
- Provide age-appropriate adult-child interactions.
- Provide age-appropriate guidance and direction.
- Greet parents, address parent concerns and communicate parent concerns to the Teacher and Director.
- Complete assigned classroom daily sheets.
- Assist children with diapering and toileting in an age-appropriate manner observing all health and safety standards.
- Ensure classroom setup is conducive to learning.
- Ensure classroom materials are clean, unbroken, and age-appropriate.
- Attend all mandatory meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Participate in parent engagement events as assigned.
- Ensure each child is signed-in and out by parent(s) daily.
- Complete daily meal point of service forms as assigned.
- Work as a member of a team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs on a regular basis, and have the ability to bend easily at the knees. Must be able to sit, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time.
