Job Title: Center Aide

Reports To: Director

Supervises: Assists Assigned Students

Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-time 

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time-Off, Sick Days

Compensation: $17.50/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30a - 3:30p, 40 hours/wk

Summary
The Curiosity First Early Education Program is hiring experienced part-time Childcare Aides to provide a high-quality early childhood educational experience for young children and their families. Educators at Curiosity First Early Education Program use their experience and knowledge of child development to ensure that each child’s cognitive, physical, emotional, language, and cultural needs are met. The education staff at this program provide a well-rounded education for each child by developing partnerships with parents and achieving curriculum standards.

Qualification:

  • Minimum Education

Child Development Associate (CDA) + 1 year of experience

Or,

High School Diploma or GED + 3 years or more years of experience


 

  • Minimum Experience 

1 year of experience working with groups of young children and preparing/serving meals in an Early Childhood Education setting.

CPR Certification - pediatric first aid; and  pediatric, child, and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Job Function and Responsibilities  

  1. Nutrition Services 
    1. Prepare breakfast, snacks, and lunch for the infant, toddler, and preschool programs.
    2. Portion each food component according to the CACFP meal pattern requirements for each age group.
    3. Deliver meals to the classroom according to the classroom schedule.
    4. Contribute to the development of the meal plan and weekly menu.
    5. Clean dishes, clean food preparation area, mop kitchen, and maintain a clean and tidy kitchen area.
    6. Implement all program health and safety standards. 
  2. Childcare Assistance
    1. Provide age-appropriate adult-child interactions.
    2. Provide age-appropriate guidance and direction.  
    3. Greet parents, address parent concerns and communicate parent concerns to the Teacher and Director.  
    4. Complete assigned classroom daily sheets. 
    5. Assist children with diapering and toileting in an age-appropriate manner observing all health and safety standards.  
    6. Ensure classroom setup is conducive to learning. 
    7. Ensure classroom materials are clean, unbroken, and age-appropriate.
    8. Attend all mandatory meetings, workshops, and conferences. 
    9. Participate in parent engagement events as assigned. 
    10. Ensure each child is signed-in and out by parent(s) daily.
    11. Complete daily meal point of service forms as assigned.
    12. Implement all program health and safety standards. 
    13. Work as a member of a team.
    14. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs on a regular basis, and have the ability to bend easily at the knees. Must be able to sit, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time.
