Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Intern

Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-op

Department : Technical Staff

Reports to: Principal or Associate 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 JOB SUMMARY

Intern position for a student currently in an accredited engineering program to work under close and frequent supervision in performing the routine aspects of engineering assignments.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
  2. Drafts contract drawings from sketches and “mark-ups” generated by senior personnel.
  3. Assist in site surveys and field measurements.
  4. Prepares spreadsheets and inputs data into computerized engineering programs.
  5. Research design options and document findings for Engineers.
  6. Assist with other duties assigned by Engineers.

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To have work reviewed for application and sound professional judgment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Anticipated Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology

Skills

MS Office Suite

AutoCAD/Revit (preferred, not required)

 

Experience

No Previous Experience Required

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
