Job Description
Function:
The Brunk Technology Center in Steamboat Springs focuses on New Product Development, Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Design, and Automation and Electromechanical system design. The role of the Technology Center is to both support the manufacturing side of Brunk as well to develop new products – specifically in the outdoor & cycling industry – using Brunk’s cutting edge manufacturing capabilities. Engineering Interns at the Brunk Technology Center are tasked with their own projects in the New Product Development and/or in Automation roles.
Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
- Work on product development project(s) from initial CAD design and FEA validation through to process development and fixture design.
- Work on given automation project(s) including electromechanical system design, PLC implementation, and robotic integration.
- Work in a team environment during design reviews and collaborative meetings.
- Seek feedback from supervisor and engineers and incorporate the feedback into projects.
- Assist on other projects based on needs and skills.
- Creation of part drawings for fabrication.
- Present year-end presentation of Brunk internship experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Skills:
- Required:
- CAD Experience (Solidworks strongly preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively operate in a team environment.
- Ability to make and meet commitments in a fast paced, technology driven environment.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Preference given to candidates with:
- Knowledge of metal stamping and machining processes.
- Programming and PLC experience.
Education and Experience:
Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.
- Must have a current student status in a Bachelor of Science Program in an engineering discipline.
Work Environment/Physical requirements:
- Work is in an office and manufacturing environment with noise and some grinding dust.
- Must be able to perform light lifting 50 lbs.
Protective Clothing Required:
- Must wear safety glasses while working in the manufacturing area.
