Position Summary:
Gremmer & Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Transportation Engineering Technician to join our growing team. You will assist engineers in designing, managing, and inspecting innovative and sustainable solutions for a variety of transportation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist with collecting field data, conducting basic engineering analyses, and preparing calculations to support project design.
- Design Support: Assist engineers with preparing detailed plans, drawings, and specifications for transportation projects, including roadways, highways, bridges, and other infrastructure elements.
- Construction Management & Inspection: Support construction oversight by monitoring project progress, verifying compliance with plans and specifications, and ddoucmenting field activities.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare clear and concise technical reports and documentation, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
- Site Visits: Participate in site visits alongside engineers to gather survey data, verify design assumptions, and document existing conditions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
- Stay Updated: Maintain awareness of current transportation engineering practices and relevant software updates.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Enrolled in associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology if applying for internship
- 0-5 years of experience in a transportation engineering environment (or internship experience).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with transportation engineering design software (Civil 3D a plus).
- Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation design standards.
