Truck Cap Technical Installer

This position is responsible for installing our truck cap products in an industry leading manner.  The methods and materials will be trained and are designed to be consistent in how performed.  We have a reputation for premium installations including long term reliability with minimal future repairs or maintenance. 

Technical installers primary mission points:

1)  Learn and apply proper 12V wiring connecting, wire harness construction, installation, repeatedly consistent routing under and through vehicle. This helps us identify our work should trouble arise and allows us to make recognized general changes as needed. Consistent and safe wiring is critical. We connect a variety of truck cap wiring from brake lighting to keyless wiring. Each truck generation varies as well as brands. The concept is similar throughout.


2)  Become familiar with special tools, connections, hardware, methods, water proofing and general wiring pathways to minimize wiring issues post installation. Know where tools and equipment are how each item is critically located for other members to find quickly.
 

3)  Cap prep regarding understanding water management, seals, seal types, placement, fillers, silicones, caulking techniques are important to ensure a more water resistant install to the truck.
 

4)  Bolting or clamping and precise positioning of truck caps is the key for best door fit and operation.
 

5)  Understanding fitting and adjusting the doors, windows and locks will be trained and repeated on each installation.
 

6)  Upon completion quality inspection, showroom shine microfiber wipe down for fingerprints and check all wiring functions one final time.
 

7)  Be sure floor is clear so creeper wheels roll smoothly while running wiring beneath truck. Understanding safe use of the RACERAMP two-piece ramps and the various scenarios those are used. Using wheel chocks and vehicle brakes will be critical as well.


8)  Understanding how to operate vehicle electric mirrors and running boards to fold these in to avoid damage. Power running boards can crush ribs if someone opens a truck door and you are beneath them. We ensure that that everyone is aware of this basic operation aspect.
 

9)  We offer a key holder position upon conclusion that is necessary for flex hours. You work will be covered under our shop keeper’s policy should we damage a vehicle. Other benefits are not included unless specified.
