Position Overview 
Ferreira Construction is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of civil and/or electrical infrastructure projects. 


Working under the direction of a Project Manager, the APM plays a critical role in project coordination, cost control, subcontract administration, client communication, and field support. This position offers hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle — from preconstruction and proposal development through project closeout. 


The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically capable, and eager to grow into increasing levels of project leadership within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. 

Key Responsibilities 
Project Coordination & Execution Support 
-Assist the Project Manager with development and implementation of project execution plans. 
-Review project proposals and contract documents to determine timeframes, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation. 
-Support development of work plans for each project phase. 
-Coordinate daily activities with field teams, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure schedule and scope alignment. 
-Attend client and internal staff meetings as required. 


Financial Management & Cost Control 
-Assist with preparation and review of pay applications and invoicing. 
-Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with 
contract requirements. 
-Support development and administration of subcontracts. 

-Prepare and maintain cost reports, labor production reports, and schedule forecasts. 
-Assist with change order development, risk analysis, and project tracking documentation. 
-Analyze cost factors for changing site conditions and evaluate vendor/subcontractor cost effectiveness. 


Field Oversight & Quality Assurance 
-Examine and inspect construction progress, equipment usage, and jobsite 
conditions to ensure safety compliance and adherence to project specifications. 
-Monitor subcontractor performance and verify conformance with contractual 
requirements. 
-Assist in estimating material, labor, and equipment requirements. 
-Recommend improvements to production methods and equipment performance to increase efficiency and safety. 


Estimating & Preconstruction Support 
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation. 
- Assist in preparing time, cost, and labor estimates. 
- Support bid responses and proposal development efforts. 
- Contribute to MBE/DBE/WBE plans, staffing plans, project execution plans, and organizational charts. 


Problem Solving & Communication 
-Analyze and resolve project-related challenges in coordination with the Project Manager. 
-Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal 
stakeholders. 
-Provide proactive updates regarding schedule impacts, cost variances, and project risks.
