Gloria Dei is a small, diverse, secular Montessori school. Our campus is nestled on a

peaceful wooded lot in a quiet residential neighborhood. We enroll children from 18

months through 12 years (6 th grade). We are looking for a full-time teacher’s assistant

for work with our Toddler classrooms.

Our Montessori Toddler classroom has children from ages 18 months to 3 years. There

is a maximum of 12 students with one teacher and one non-teaching assistant. The

assistant is primarily responsible for maintaining peace and order in the Montessori

classroom and in keeping the classroom environment clean and running smoothly. A

calm, respectful approach toward children is vital. Prior knowledge and understanding of

the Montessori philosophy is helpful but not required. A High School Diploma is

required.

The Montessori assistant plays a very important role in the overall success of the

Montessori environment. S/he provides support to the lead teacher, support of the

classroom environment and through gentle interaction with the children, supports a

peaceful, harmonious classroom. It is a position that requires high energy, and a gentle

spirit combined with a willing “can-do” attitude and a healthy sense of humor. It is also a

personally challenging and rewarding experience.
