Job description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to fabricate metal components according to precise specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The Laser Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production operations.
Shift Schedule:
Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday
Shift Differential: $2.00/hour
Duties
- Operate laser cutting machines to cut parts according to specifications.
- Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Set up laser cutting machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Utilize measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances of finished products.
- Perform quality checks on finished parts, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in programming laser machines for specific cutting tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment is preferred.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and interpretation are essential for this role.
- Experience with tooling assembly and fabrication techniques is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of programming for laser operations will be beneficial.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are critical for success in this position.
