Outdoor Adventure Staff (Summer 2020)
Camp Skylemar, is in search of college students and/or recent graduates to work in our outdoor adventure program. Help us make a positive difference in the world, one child at a time. If you are interested in outdoor skills, camping, backpacking, ropes/adventure course, hiking, archery or climbing, we are interested in you. We seek counselors to work in one or all of the areas of our programs. Take small groups on various trips in Maine and New Hampshire. Help build teamwork and self-esteem on our ropes course and climbing wall. Teach children about the environment, enjoying the outdoors, camping and outdoor skills. Skylemar is hiring staff who are:
· Fun, energetic & creative.
· Enthusiastic about working with boys ages 7-16.
· A positive role-model.
· Able to share our belief that nothing is more important than safety.
· Comfortable teaching all levels, from the nervous to experienced.
· Responsible, supportive & patient.
Skylemar staff are involved with many special events plus day and overnight trips. In addition to providing instructional leadership in one or more activities throughout the day, a counselor serves as “big brother/sister”, friend, role-model, adviser and “hero”. Applicants must have completed at least one year of college.
Compensation package includes:
· Salary starting at $2,700
· Travel expenses
· Housing
· Meals
· Staff clothing
· WIFI
· Internship credit is available
Camp season runs from June 15 to August 15. Camp Skylemar provides and covers the cost for all necessary certifications and training. Including, lifeguard, cpr, first aid, ropes course, archery, wilderness first aid and Maine trip leader certification.
