Meridian Center for Diplomatic Engagement Summer Internship

Meridian International Center is a diplomatic and global leadership institution that strengthens U.S. engagement with the world and accelerates collaboration through the exchange of people, culture and ideas. Leveraging 60 years of deep relationships with the diplomatic community, the Meridian Center for Diplomatic Engagement convenes programs across borders, parties and industries enabling participants to connect in intimate settings with top officials and policy-makers, dive deeply into issues, understand how Washington works and strengthen peer-to-peer relationships. It is a hub for policy symposia, panel discussions, fireside chats with senior Administration officials and Members of Congress, salon dinners and workshops.

Main Duties:
·        Support the MCDE team in the implementation and execution of the Summer 2020 slate of convening programs

·        Manage audience/attendee outreach and engagement for monthly programs – research potential attendees, disseminate invitations, track RSVPs, issue reminders and extend thank you letters

·        Prepare internal and external briefings and program materials

·        Research issues, organizations and leaders as related to the slate of Summer 2020 convenings

·        Assist with enrichment of Salesforce database, providing up-to-date contact information and relationship details for MCDE network

·        Contribute written content and curate photo galleries of events for Meridian’s blog, social media platforms and/or website

·        Assist with other Meridian events as needed

Skills and qualifications:
·        Working toward or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree focused on International Studies/Affairs or a similar field  
·        Interest and familiarity with online research tools
·        Knowledge of general office procedures
·        Strong communication and writing skills
·        Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
·        Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
·        Computer proficiency in Windows based applications including Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory
·        Prior experience with CRMs such as Salesforce a plus
·        Prior experience with email marketing services such as MyEmma or Pardot a plus
·        Graphic design experience desired but not necessary

APPLY: We are looking for an intern to commit to 30-40 hours per week starting May or June. The position requires occasional early arrivals or evening departures for scheduled events with advance notice. This internship is unpaid; however, Meridian does provide a $10/day transportation stipend and can provide college credit.
