Camp Counselor

Great Summer Camp Counselor Jobs for baseball, basketball, rock climbing, tennis, hiking, woodworking, boat driving, sailing, fishing, videographer, biking, and kayaking

Camp Moosilauke is ranked in the top twenty camps in America. Our camp is located on a beautiful lake in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We offer all land sports including baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and ultimate frisbee. Our water sport positions include kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, rowing, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and water-skiing. The Camp Moosilauke tripping program includes mountain-biking, rock climbing, canoeing and hiking. We have a coed staff.  

Desired Qualifications:
Desire and ability to work in a camp setting. Training and experience in athletic/waterfront/outdoor activities. Ability to teach proper sports skills to campers of all ages. Ability to accept guidance and supervision Good character, integrity, and adaptability. Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control. Ability to relate to one’s peer group Current CPR and first aid certifications preferred High school graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years old.

Responsible to: Managing Directors and/or assistant camp directors

General Responsibility: To teach and help coordinate the camp’s athletic/waterfront/outdoor programs, and to help maintain standards that lead to a quality program and to identify and meet camper needs.

Specific Responsibilities: Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations. Carry out established roles in supervising camper health.

Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers’ day including morning wakeup, cabin clean-up, meal times, rest hour, evening activities, getting ready for bed, and after-hours duty as assigned.

Provide opportunities for the group or cabin for discussion of individual or group concerns.

Guide cabin and individual campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities.

Assist athletic/waterfront/outdoor directors in setting up camp’s activity areas.

Store and keep equipment in good condition and conduct daily safety checks.

Assist in total athletic/waterfront/outdoor programs.

Write lesson plans, with the help of athletic/waterfront/outdoor directors, which foster participants’ skills.

Keep records on all participants; help them progress from beginner to advanced levels.

Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed.

These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

The dates are June 17 through August 12. We offer a competitive salary range of $2,000-$2,500 with free room and board.
