Internal Audit Staff Intern

About The Team
The Internal Audit Group supports the Board and Management in the exciting quest to make things better, always improve, and to do things right. You will be a valued member of the team to focus on current issues at hand and meet the challenge of exploring and finding optimum solutions for doing things the right way.
About This Intern Position
You will:
  • Support the team on moderate to high complexity assignments
  • Participate in required training
  • Work with leader to ensure on-going evaluation
  • Manage time, responsibilities, and priorities effectively with emphasis on contribution
  • Participate in audit projects as directed
  • Perform audit work, special projects and participate in subject matter specialist teams
  • Apply audit skills to new business areas under supervision
  • Conduct internal controls testing in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements with supervision
  • Develop clear and concise written recommendations that may require some editing
Your team will: 
Execute the Board approved audit plan which includes projects to evaluate items such as data management and processes, security processes and practices, revenue recognition, SOX compliance, and other items across the entirety of the Company.
About you: 
  • Progress toward a Bachelor's degree in accounting or information technology with some accounting and auditing
  • Basic understanding and ability to use Google and Microsoft products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) and aptitude to understand and use technology
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and appropriately
  • Ability to quickly understand direction and perform related tasks
  • Self-motivated and positive attitude
  • Intent to complete certification by the International Institute of Internal Auditors (Certified Internal Auditor, CIA)
  • Effective and contributing team member and establishes cooperative and positive working relationships
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic audit skills
  • Demonstrates aptitude for project management
Bonus Points:
  • Information Technology experience
  • Intent to sit for the CPA exam once qualified
  • Intent to become CISA Certified
  • Progress toward other certification commensurate with duties
