HR and Benefits Administrator - Entry Level

A Silicon Valley human resources firm is hiring entry-level Administrators for its Roseville and Santa Clara, CA office. The company helps employers manage time off and short-term disability requests. The Administrators deal directly with workers, guiding them through their rights, ensuring that they are paid correctly and take all eligible time off. Thanks to these services, parents can take more time off for maternity/paternity leave, family members can care longer for sick relatives and employees can take more time off to recover from an illness.

Job duties involve:
  • Administering leaves of absence according to federal and state laws, through emails, phone calls and virtual meetings.
  • Advising workers on their leave entitlements, the clients’ policies and benefits, payroll and return-to-work accommodations.

The ideal candidate:
  • Is someone who has a love of learning. This is a complicated niche in HR and ongoing training is needed to keep up with compliance changes.
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills, empathy, professionalism and a genuine desire to assist people.
  • Preferably has earned a four-year college degree with a high GPA.
  • A strong working knowledge of Word and Excel.

The company is secure and well-established, and these positions are open due to growth. They have a collaborative workplace, provide ongoing training and room for advancement. Upon hire, you will be in a virtual classroom for two to three weeks (while being paid) then assigned a mentor. You will be set up with a home office until social distancing rules are lifted.

The starting salary is $47,500 with fully covered health, dental and vision benefits, 401K matching, steady but flexible schedule, generous time off and further education sponsorship. There are no sales requirements. The culture is work hard/play hard, casual, with company sponsored events.
