Technology Development Program – Cybersecurity Development Track

Our Cybersecurity Development Program (CDP) is a two-year program based out of our corporate office in Washington D.C. As a full-time associate in the CDP, you will gain experience within several teams of our Cybersecurity division.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In the Cybersecurity Track, you will learn the ins and outs of how our multi-billion-dollar company is using cybersecurity technologies to protect, detect, prevent, and respond to cybersecurity threats. You will monitor and troubleshoot cybersecurity infrastructure within GEICO’s enterprise to ensure all business applications are protected. You will support various processes that govern secure practice within the enterprise while meeting with various stakeholders at all levels. You will attend design/architecture reviews and make recommendations as it pertains to GEICO’s cybersecurity standards, best practices, and business application requirements. You will manage and support projects and create technical documentation as it relates to changes to process or technology. We’ll support your professional and technical development while you gain real, hands-on technical experience. You can take advantage of our in-house GEICO University to learn new technologies, languages, and soft skills. As part of the program, you will also receive mentoring from management to take your knowledge and skills to the next level.
 
Candidate Qualifications:
 
• Recent bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related majors targeting May 2020, December 2020, and May 2021 graduates
• Overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• Coursework or related experience in managing cybersecurity defenses, network management, systems administration, risk management, enterprise defense, technical documentation and troubleshooting, or application development
• Coursework or related experience using Python, PowerShell, Java, .NET, or C# languages a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Well-rounded experiences outside of the classroom with different technologies
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Ability to work and live in the Washington D.C. area

Note: The safety of our associates, both current and future, is GEICO’s highest priority. At this time, most of our associates are working remotely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area. Once GEICO determines it is safe for associates to return to the office, candidates may be required to work in our Chevy Chase, MD office.
