Summer Camp Counselor (Paid)

Seneca Hills Residential Counselor Job

Residential Counselors are the lifeblood of our ministry. If thinking about leading campers through rock climbing walls, nature hikes, deep discussion around a camp fire, cabin debriefs, silly songs, and just hanging out gets you excited, then Seneca Hills is the place for you.

Qualifications:

Have a personal and saving faith in Christ
Have a positive and teachable attitude with a desire to learn and work as a member of a team
• Have, at the minimum, graduated High School (a semester of college is preferred)
• Experience working with children preferred, but not required
• Ability to go on at least 2 mile hike, willingness to sleep outside with proper camping gear provided

Responsibilities:

• Lead a cabin of campers, various age groups from 6-18, through scheduled activities
• Work well in teams with co-counselor and other residential counseling staff
• Learn required skills for role, PBUS Belay System, Climbing Knots, Facilitation Skills, and SHBC specific protocols covered extensively in Staff Training
• Develop innovative cabin time activities to engage campers
• Become a part of a vital and life-giving staff community through various contributions during meetings and activities
