Position Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious, thoughtful, and enthusiastic product design intern to help realize our product vision. You will take on projects that impact millions of listeners while working directly with senior members of our team for feedback and mentorship. At the end of your internship you’ll have project work you are proud of, experience collaborating in a fast-paced and user-centered tech company, and a wealth of knowledge and personal connections to establish the foundation for your career.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a nuanced understanding of SiriusXM + Pandora’s business goals and the needs of our listeners.

• Translate those goals and needs into elegant, creative, and actionable design solutions via wireframes, prototypes, visual mocks, and interaction specifications.

• Work closely with product management, engineering, and user research teams to implement, measure, and reflect upon the impact of your designs.

• Be a great design team member – we make each other better designers by providing and being receptive to feedback, asking the right questions, and recognizing we each bring unique, valuable perspectives to the team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• You must be 18 years of age or older

• Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.

• Currently pursuing a degree in design or related field

• Have at least one project that demonstrates your product design capabilities and how you approach design problems

Requirements and General Skills:

• A user-centered approach to problem solving that leverages research and empathy rather than personal opinions

• A general understanding of today’s common design patterns (across mobile, web, desktop, etc) and an awareness of when it’s appropriate (or not) to deviate from them

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor communications to your audience

• Relevant design experience from a class, club, or extra-curricular

• Can-do attitude: You're the type of person who will go the extra mile to launch the best possible design

• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Sketch, Figma, and/or other current design tools.

• Working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides or Microsoft/Apple equivalent.
