Electronic Design Automation Engineer - Entry Level

NXP Austin is recruiting an entry-level Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Engineer for our Design Enablement organization.  The mission of the Design Enablement organization is to work closely with product design teams to define and develop advanced EDA flows and methodologies, and disseminate best known methods to support NXP product design world-wide.  In this position, you will work with an international NXP team to improve the EDA process across all NXP designs.

The Person:

  • Recent college graduate with a master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • An analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills; fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, multi-project, international team using state of the art tools and technology

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand NXP design project EDA requirements
  • Work with the global Design Enablement team and with all major EDA vendors to develop and improve EDA flows
  • Use Data Science skills to analyze and optimize NXP’s IC design flow

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and Python
  • Experience working in the Linux environment, and using Linux utilities (e.g., gcc, make, awk, bash scripting, etc.)
  • Experience in data analytics, including Spark, Hadoop, Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Numpy, Matplotlib, and one of TensorFlow or Pytorch
  • A strong understanding of computer architecture a plus

Academic Credentials:

  • Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
