Financial Institution Intern – Pathways Internship Student Trainee (Division of Depositor & Consumer Projection)
Opportunity: Student Trainees (Interns) will be assigned to the Division of Compliance and Consumer Protection (DCP). Interns will work directly on teams of experienced FDIC employees to evaluate bank operations, business planning, and consumer protection practices. These teams are responsible for assessing financial institutions to determine whether they are following safe and sound banking practices, maintaining effective internal controls and procedures, managing their institutions effectively, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
Locations: There is one position available in Sacramento, CA, and one position available in San Francisco, CA.
You may only select one of the above locations. If selected, you will be required to work at multiple sites within the geographic area of the selected location.
Based on availability, interns are expected to remain in the program through the following timeframes:
Interns graduating December 2021 or no later than June 2022:
§ Begin program on May 10, 2021 and end program on August 9, 2021 or upon graduation OR
§ Begin program on May 25, 2021 and end program on August 27, 2021 or upon graduation
Interns graduating July 2022 or later:
§ Begin program on May 10 or May 25, 2021 and return to school in August
§ Begin second half of program in May 2022 and return to school in August
§ If applicable, program will end upon graduation
Program start and end dates may vary depending on the conclusion of the school-year
Work Schedule: Interns are required to work full-time during the summer months. Interns may be eligible to work a part-time schedule during the school year based on management needs. However, this is not required.
Conversion: Although conversion to a full-time position is not guaranteed, participants may be converted to a position as a Financial Institution Specialist based upon meeting the Pathways Program requirements, completion of 6 hours in accounting, the successful completion of a skills assessment and a recommendation from management.
Compensation: $22.87 - $27.47 per hour depending on location
Stipend: Interns may elect to receive a one-time $2500 stipend (in addition to bi-weekly salary) at the beginning of the program to assist with expenses associated with this internship.
