Manufacturing Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform instrument test
· Set up test protocol with help from Engineering
· Draft test procedure and SOP
· Train test technician
· Conduct instrumentation related performance/application experiments
· Conduct tests relating to customer feedback
· Prepare documentation relating to test result, experiments reports, findings and improvement suggestion
· Perform measurements involving customer samples
· Sets up standard test apparatus or contrive test equipment and circuitry and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production products
· Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data
· Develop and implement optimal, cost effective test procedure and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
· Must be proactive in resolving instrument issues before they become chronic by determining a root cause and course of action
· Lead improvement projects that focus on defect reduction.
· Train manufacturing staff regarding workmanship and assembly and test method standards.
· Assess RMA returns and provide feedback
· Conduct root cause failure analysis as required to address quality complaints or reliability incidents
· Provide corrective and preventive actions.
· Notify Production and Engineering Departments when returned product contains quality problems or other manufacturing defectives. Notify finished goods suppliers of same issues for their products.
· Create responses to special correspondence and handle special assignments and problems such as responses to complex RMAs or product application problems
· Manage and troubleshoot complex technical issues with hardware, firmware and software
· Make decisions and solve problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
· Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Qualifications:
· Associate degree or higher
· Hands on experience with analytical instrumentation and procedures including spectrophotometry and etc.
