Temporary Digital Print Developer

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE:

Support the Estee Lauder Corporate strategy to continue to be the global leader in prestige beauty by ensuring special brand packaging is developed to support the values of unrivaled quality, creativity and innovation. Support designated business segment by being the brand steward for the package, ensuring all aspects meet or exceed the quality, creative and product delivery requirements within a managed timeline and cost objective.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Execute feasibility testing, development, die line creation, and troubleshooting for digital printing on packages across all ELC brands.
·        Project Manage key testing tasks (i.e. Print Testing, Sample Submissions, Adhesion Testing, Compatibility Testing, etc).
·        Develop and maintain working relationships with vendors and internal groups as required to understand testing queue and troubleshooting techniques for digital print failures.
·        Document and track status for all testing and components/bulk for Department and follow-up with Package Testing, R&D, Supplier, and Developer as required.
·        Create internal guides and process for training and sharing details throughout the global network.
·        Interface with various teams around the globe to execute programs, develop decorations, and troubleshoot issues.
·        Understand and generate hypothesis for material compatibility. Partner with the materials testing team to track results and make accurate predictions.
·        Manage inventory of components and track component requests with planning teams.
·        Maintain digital printing equipment with daily and weekly cleaning tasks and part replacements.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

·        College/University graduate preferred with engineering background
·        Technical and hands-on experience with machinery or printing technologies
·        Excellent communication, written and verbal skills.
·        Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access.
·        Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
·        Flexibility to work on multiple projects at a time.
·        Be able to work independently.
·        Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot equipment.
·        Experience with Adobe illustrator and art files preferred although not required

COMMITMENT/LOCATION

·        Engineering Technical Center – Melville, NY
·        0-5% travel to vendors or distribution/manufacturing sites
·        40 hours/week
·        Estimated 3-6 month support need
