SUMMER 2021 INTERNSHIP--US Programs and Advocacy Partnership Development Intern (Virtual)

Our U.S. Programs & Advocacy (USPA) division partners with low-income, rural communities across the nation to ensure that underserved children are prepared for school by the time they begin kindergarten and are achieving grade level proficiency in math and reading by the end of third grade. USPA has a Partnership Development team (USPA PD) that is dedicated to raising private and public funds for Save the Children’s early childhood education, school-age, and protection programs in the U.S.
In this role, you will provide support to the Partnership Development team’s government relations efforts through policy research and providing administrative support on day-to-day operational functions, and special projects. This position plays a vital liaison role between the USPA PD team and other departments within Save the Children to encourage and increase opportunities for cross-collaboration.
What You’ll be Doing (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
 External Relationship Support
  • Assist with the development of public fundraising strategies by supporting government relations efforts;
  • Research, compile and summarize data and information on respective state legislative and executive entities, as needed
Administration & Special Projects
  • Provide support as requested for special projects, such as preparation for state check-in meetings.
Professional Development
  • Participate in weekly team calls
  • Share any lessons or observations with colleagues
Required Qualifications
  • Must be an actively enrolled Associate, Bachelor, Master or other post high school education program, or have graduated within 6 months of program start date
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English,
  • Demonstrate collaborative interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully within a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
