SUMMER 2021 INTERNSHIP-US Programs Gift in Kind and Procurement Intern (Virtual)
In this role, you will gain logistical and humanitarian response experience in support of our US Programs and Advocacy (USPA) division that responds to domestic programs, disasters, and crises by providing assistance with procurement and Gift in Kind (GIK) activities. These activities ensure that we are able to reach and provide supplies and resources to children and families in need, through the generosity of our corporate partners. You will assist the USPA Procurement Team by providing support to staff in the purchase of quality goods and services and GIK distributions of goods from corporate and private donors for Head Start, Rural Education and domestic responses to include valuations, logistics support and collection of required forms to verify goods receipt.
What You’ll be Doing (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
- Support monitoring and follow up on purchases made through the USPA Procure to Pay system (SpendBridge) to ensure that goods are received and invoices paid timely
- Assist with updating and maintaining the report of USPA Contracts loaded in the STC Contract Repository
- Liaise with SCUS Accounts Payable staff regarding status of vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Support valuations for donor gifts (in kind)
- Assist with tracking documentation for Gift in Kind distributions
- Perform other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
- Must be an actively enrolled Associate, Bachelor, Master or other post high school education program, or have graduated within 6 months of program start date
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English,
- Demonstrate collaborative interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully within a team
- Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
