Associate Product Designer - Remote Temporary Position

We're seeking an Associate Product Design Temp to support our Preschool Classic Brands!
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop innovative play experiences targeted at 1-5 year-olds leveraging Hasbro’s classic preschool brands including Mr. Potato Head and Playskool.
This role reports to the Senior Designer (Preschool Classic Brands). Additionally you will work hand-in-hand with your counterparts in Design, Global Brand Strategy, Engineering, Project Management, and Brand Creative.
 
A Day in the life of an Associate Product Designer:
Delivering innovation, intelligent decision-making, and outstanding design execution within the preschool category. Core responsibilities include delivering a diverse line of Playskool product including classics like Mr. Potato HeadSit’n SpinGlo Worm, and Weebles. In addition to analyzing trend and performance data to inform the development of future product innovations and segments. Working closely with internal and external innovation partners to build multifaceted play experiences that deliver easy-get magic for the retailer and consumer. Partnering with cross functional team to bring relevance and mass market appeal by developing new ideas for storytelling, branding, and entertainment.

  • Proficiency in production methods with a strong understanding of materials, crafting efficient and elegant solutions across a variety of complexities and price points.
  • Agility and flexibility able to shift course and iterate within tight time frames operating in varying levels of ambiguity.
  • Storytelling in how you present yourself, share ideas, and position strategy.
  • Sound knowledge of technology able to apply multiple solutions to an experience while weighing the costs and benefits.
  • Strong written, visual, and oral communication skills able to communicate feedback and ideas effectively to global partners.
 
Experience - Education
  • A Degree in Product/Industrial Design, Toy Design or another appropriate creative development field.
  • 1+ years of experience in product development geared towards kids play (preschool experience is preferred)
  • Crafting product specifications, control drawings, and gameplay documents that communicate the details of a product to partners in production.
  • Working directly with development partners in Asia be it in-company and/or directly with factories (bonus).
  • Collaborating directly with internal/external research partners to gain the consumer/industry insights required to help make decisions (bonus).
