Engineering Intern - Engineer

At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Our bottles and jars are primarily made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which has rapidly become the world’s preferred packaging material. PET is lightweight, shatterproof, recloseable, resealable, reusable and infinitely recyclable*.
 
Intern Opportunity:
The intern will learn about the different utility systems needed to support an industrial facility. They will have to determine piping, valve, and sensor types and sizes in the system to correctly document. An understanding in the need for emergency isolation valves and backup connection for plant reliability as well as an understanding why proper labeling and documentation is needed in a real world situation. Intern will be involved in the following learn the following:

1) Document plant piping P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagrams) for the following systems and communicate these drawings with the corporate CAD engineer for formal documentation. 
- West Process Chilled Water, evap, condenser, and process
- East Process Chilled Water, evap, condenser, and process
- HVAC Chilled Water, evap and condenser
- West Process Tower Water
- East Process Tower Water
- Plant Low Pressure Air System
- Plant High Pressure System
2) Document current and recommended emergency shutoff locations.
3) Document current and recommended system backup connections.
4) Label piping headers at main intersections and emergency points for clarity when needed.
