Reading/Math Interventionist at Brush Creek Elementary School

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: 
 
Responsible for push-in and pull out support in planning instruction and/or adaptation of the instructional program using MTSS model to facilitate student learning in accordance with policies and guidelines. Design and implement specific strategies designed to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth in all identified intervention students. Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of specific strategies and interventions in order to refine Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of support.
Supports the instructional programs with regular and special education students. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Use data to help teachers identify and group children who need additional supports
  • Help teachers develop and implement classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual children and groups of children 
  • Support teachers in documenting children's progress
  • Facilitate the Student Support Team (SST) process with the staff
  • Develop and use instructional and behavioral tools (SST forms, FBA's) to effectively progress monitor
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
Reading Interventionist Duties: 
  • Provide push-in and pull out reading intervention support 
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process towards academic growth and achievement
  • Establish clear learning targets for all lessons
  • Assess the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provide progress reports
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • For applicants applying for a Career/Technical Education positions, must be CTE certified or be willing to gain CTE certification.
  • Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.
  • Must be “Highly Qualified” according to the Colorado’s definition of a “Highly Qualified” teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act (effective January 1, 2004 for current teachers and 2002-03 for newly hired teachers).
  • Endorsement in the area(s) of teaching assignment preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
