Math & Science Teacher/Mentor, Rockville, MD

Fusion Academy is a comprehensive private middle school and high school, and a full-service tutoring facility. Some Fusion students exhibit special learning needs such as ADHD, LD, and emotional difficulties. Other students may be accelerated learners or need flexible scheduling.

Our Rockville, Maryland campus has an immediate opening for a part-time Math/Science Teacher.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for consideration, as well as a higher-level math and/or science background. Teaching credentials are a plus but are not mandatory. Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience. Our ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
This position provides a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of high school math and science including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Candidates with broader content knowledge are preferred. Ability to teach up to honors level curriculum required. Subject matter knowledge in a majority of these areas must be solid; candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately. In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.
Part-time positions (Monday through Friday) are available for immediate start. Following a candidate’s hire, training will commence as soon as possible, and is required prior to the aforementioned start time. Part-time positions will have the potential for growth into full-time positions.
