Digital & Web Content Strategist

Job Summary
As the digital and web content strategist for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), you will oversee, develop, implement, track, and optimize the MPCA's external and internal website efforts. Serving as part of the communications and outreach team, this position helps to advance communications goals by providing strategic direction and technology-based leadership for managing the MPCA's digital channels, including web-integrated data platforms, and mass email systems. You will write and publish web content and serve as an agency-wide resource on strategies and best practices for digital communications.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must clearly demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of professional-level experience developing digital content creation and integrated communication campaigns for an organization through digital trends and UX/UI.
  • Proficiency with web design, web maintenance (CMS), user experience/user interface, mockups and wireframes and information architecture.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating the success of communication strategies.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and demonstrated experience in digital storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with web analytics, SEO and keyword tools.
  • Experience with Drupal CMS.
  • Experience in marketing, communications and/or public relations.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and UI design software.
  • Strong experience incorporating video and social content into web design.
  • Strong research skills and ability to translate research into engaging content.
  • Understanding of risk communication and crisis communication strategies.
