Summer 2022 Accounting Internship
OVERVIEW
Bath & Body Works, a $6 billion (and growing) brand; one of the most creative, dynamic, profitable growth retailers in the industry. This internship will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive view of the various areas of accounting and financial reporting within specialty retail. You will have the opportunity to work along-side and learn from finance and accounting professionals that will provide hands on training. The role will be a combination of recurring and ad hoc projects specific to the area where each candidate is placed. Interns will be given opportunities to develop relationships with each other and key leaders within the BBW brand through training, community service, and other associate-only experiences offered over the 10-week internship. We are looking for an intern to learn and support our business strategies through curiosity, collaboration, a passion for retail and a can-do attitude.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· The intern is fully accountable for work completed and is expected to contribute as a functional member of their designated team
· Develop a general understanding of balance sheet account reconciliations and related journal entries to the general ledger
· Assist in preparation of standard business reporting and month end close activities
· Perform business and profitability analysis
· Complete special projects as directed
· Ownership supporting operational accounting and/or financial reporting requirements
· Create metric reporting and analyze for trends as well as ensure transactions are processed timely and accurately
· Communicate research findings in a professional, concise, and technical manner
· Provide general assistance with departmental administrative needs
· May include on-site attendance in our home office, stores or distribution centers, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
· Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business Finance, Accounting, or related field and has a graduation date range of December 2022 through August 2023
· GPA must be at least a 3.0
· Previous experience in finance, accounting or the retail industry
· Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite; in particular Excel and PowerPoint
· Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· General curiosity around the retail/ fashion industry
· Ability & interest in collaborating to develop strong cross functional partnerships with internal partners
