SALARY RANGE

In addition to a competitive starting salary range of $64,480 - $80,600 (Systems Software Engineer I) $77,680 - $97,100 (Systems Software Engineer II) $97,600 - $122,000 (Systems Software Engineer III) (based on qualifications, skills and abilities), Chelan PUD employees also enjoy outstanding benefits which include the option of a zero cost medical plan (medical, dental and vision for all eligible dependents), short and long-term disability, Washington State Public Employee's Retirement System, Deferred Compensation (with company matching funds up to 5%), 11 holidays and initial personal leave accrual at 21 days per year. 
Introductory Period: New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.

This position will be filled at the Systems Software Engineer I, II or III level, contingent upon the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
JOB SUMMARY
The Systems Software Engineer works with diverse teams and departments to create and implement software systems; collaborate with other systems software engineers, quality release engineers, security, and operations staff in building and managing releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
 Systems & Software Development: Combines software and systems to solve technical problems in every area of the business. Develops, codes, builds, installs, configures, and applies District standards to new IT solutions or features. Recommends performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications. Writes specifications and documentation for features.


Systems & Software Design: Defines the architecture, product design, modules, interfaces, and data to fulfill functional and technical requirements. At level I, senior levels would oversee this work. 

Development Task Definition: Meets with users, data owners, process owners, strategy owners, and design staff to identify requirements [Levels II and III]. Defines the development work tasks to fulfill the customer and system requirements.

 
Knowledge Sharing and Mentoring: Shares knowledge and resources with other system software engineers to support their success.

 
Planning: Participates in planning meetings to share knowledge of system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits. Communicates operational requirements and development forecasts. Analyzes the technology currently being used and develops plans and processes for improvement and expansion.
