Operations Management Intern

Main Accountabilities

Internal: Assembly, Materials, Equipment & Sanitation, Food Production, Last Mile Logistics (LML), Production Planning
External: Suppliers, Customers
· Develop Area Lay Out with storage locations
· Work with Buyers to further develop Dynamic Address locations in storage locations
· Develop methods to identify and reduce deadstock items
· Create value stream maps for each department
· Identify waste in the various value streams and identify ways to reduce/eliminate it
· Create continuous work flows based on customer demand and through variable production processes
· Develop pull systems to eliminate the amount of stored inventory
· Develop SOP’s for communicating changes internally from the customer to the appropriate areas
· Revise the onboarding process and develop a simplified SOP that incorporates the User Self Service Portal
· Develop an SOP for handling ferry flights with the different scenarios
· Improve the process for tracking the onboarding, training, and placement of newly hired LML employees
· Assist in improving KPI performance in the LML department
· Assist in developing a process to reduce overtime via improved planning and communication within the LML departmen

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

· College student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge
· Problem solving and leadership skills
· Basic Lean Principles and Methodology understanding
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
