Purpose Statement: 

Summer Staff exists to equip leaders with the power of humility and wonder through community and creation. 

Description of Program

Leadership 

We equip Leaders by providing opportunities to practically apply Christ’s principles of servant-leadership.

  • Teambuilding & debriefing
  • Personal skills assessments

Adventure 

We equip Adventurers by exploring a variety of environments and challenges through purposeful and integrated experiences. 

  • Facilitating high-ropes challenge courses: zip-lines, swings, climbing elements and leaps
  • Guiding adventure-sport activities: kayaking, archery, archery tag, etc.
  • Lifeguarding
  • Staff adventure expeditions

Service 

We equip Servants by journeying as a community devoted to hospitality for one another and the stranger alike. 

  • Accommodations and Maintenance: Meet the needs of our guests and steward the camp grounds. 
  • Kitchen: Serve our guests through preparing, hosting, serving and cleaning up meals
  • Guest Services: serve our guests by answering questions and running gift store

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 

Employee must be/have: 

  • Self-disciplined and reliable 
  • Unwavering commitment to safety 
  • Ability to handle crisis events and work under authority  
  • Physically fit to meet the demands of hiking the trails and various challenge courses
  • Healthy respect for heights and ability to overcome one’s fear of heights  
  • Communication skills including phone etiquette and basic computer skills

Requirements

  • Christian actively living a Biblical lifestyle and have an interest in maturing in one’s faith
  • Must be 18 years and currently enrolled in a university program
  • Lifeguard/CPR/AED preferred 
  • Experience in teaching, camps or youth work preferred
  • Must pass background check to be eligible for employment 
  • Must be in harmony with ARCG Statement of Faith and ARCG Staff Values
