Sailing Instructor

At Laurel South, we pride ourselves on our professional, family atmosphere, our top instruction and the lifelong friendships made each summer. Our staff is made up of collegians and professionals who have a desire to make a difference in a child’s life. Activity areas include Land Sports, Water Front Activities, Fine Arts, Theatre, Adventure, Riding and more. Laurel South boasts top-notch facilities consisting of a beautiful waterfront with multiple beaches, a full-size theater, baseball fields, basketball centers, arts and crafts studios including photography, ceramics, ropes course with climbing wall, stables and riding rings, tennis courts, culinary center and more.

Our waterfront program is a central focus at Laurel South. Supervised by American Red Cross certified instructors, Crescent Lake is home to our comprehensive aquatics program on 2500 feet of shoreline.

Our sailing program specifically includes over 15 Sunfish and Hobie Cat boats. Our sailing instructors must have competency in teaching to a variety of skill sets, from beginners to advanced sailers.

This is a two month experience from June 8th-August 12th. Our salary is based on age and year in school for our counselor staff. In addition to salary and travel allowance, staff members are provided with free room and board as well as 9 staff shirts and 1 sweatshirt.
