Motor Sports Instructors at Camp Lohikan

Camp Lohikan is a premier summer camp nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. With over 65 years of experience, we offer a diverse and exciting program for campers aged 6 to 15. Our goal is to create unforgettable summer experiences for campers while fostering personal growth, teamwork, and lasting friendships.

Camp Lohikan is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Motor Sports Counselors (ATV’s and Minibikes) to join our summer camp team. As a Motor Sports Counselor, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for motor sports with campers while helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and create lasting memories. This position provides an exciting and rewarding summer job experience for individuals who love the thrill of motorsports.

Responsibilities: As a Motor Sports Counselor you will:

• Plan and lead motor sports activities such as dirt biking (minibikes) and ATV/quad riding.
• Ensure the safety of campers during motor sports activities by adhering to safety protocols and providing instruction on proper equipment use.
• Teach campers basic motor sports skills, including driving techniques, safety precautions, and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Create a positive and inclusive environment where campers of all skill levels can enjoy motor sports.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among campers.
• Assist with other camp activities and responsibilities as needed.

- Please note: All activity instructors also serve as cabin counselors when not instructing during the daily program.

Responsibilities as a Cabin Counselor:

• Serve as a mentor and role model to a group of campers within a cabin.
• Create a supportive and inclusive cabin environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
• Supervise campers during meal times, bedtime, and other daily routines.
• Plan and participate in cabin activities and group bonding experiences.
• Work collaboratively with co-counselors to ensure the overall well-being of campers.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with riding and or instructing ATV’s and/or Dirtbike, minibikes or motorcycles.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work well with children and provide a safe and engaging camp experience.
• Some knowledge of small engines.
• A positive attitude, creativity, and a sense of adventure.
