Role: Lead Design Instructors and Creative Assistants: Fashion Design and Architecture

Location: Los Altos, CA (San Francisco Bay Area)

DesignX is a boutique education company in the heart of Silicon Valley whose mission is to unleash creativity in the youngest generation (7y-15y) and help them develop their unique creative voice through high quality enrichment programs in FASHION, TOY, PRODUCT and ARCHITECTURE design. In a world that is becoming increasingly digital and virtual, DesignX is committed to providing the tangible experiences that are core to the human experience. Students learn valuable critical and design thinking skills, learning about sustainability and paying attention to craftsmanship while making real world physical products. A first-of-its-kind program, DesignX has inspired and empowered over 7,000 kids and teens over the last decade. Every year, hundreds of Silicon Valley families turn to DesignX to provide one-of-a-kind experiences for their budding CREATIVES through summer and after-school enrichment as well as middle and high school electives.

DesignX is seeking talented and thoughtful designers who can use its unique curriculum to build creative confidence in kids and teens. The ideal candidate role will be a professional designer or working towards a graduate or undergraduate degree in design fields like fashion design, accessory design, product design, industrial design, toy design or architecture and who is looking to use their talents to make a meaningful impact on the future through education OR a passionate educator with talent/skills in design fields (knowledge of sewing, wood working OR Architecture a must). He/She will be a great team player who is detail-oriented and can work both collaboratively and independently.

Lead positions open to graduating Seniors, Graduate students or alumni.

Creative Assistant positions open to underclassmen.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

● Join a team of 25+ people passionate about the DesignX mission.

● Master the DesignX curriculum and framework for teaching the end-to-end design process: from  concept to completion.

● Deliver the unique curriculum in a manner consistent with DesignX standards.  

● Create samples and tools for instruction.

● Execute projects to promote skill and independence with designing and making.

● Supervise and manage the individual class team.

● Connect with every student so they feel seen and heard.
