Security Analysis Intern

The Security Analysis Intern is responsible for investigating and improving security event response plans and workflows as well as plan, communicate out, and participate in tabletop exercises. They will work to understand different teams work cases, how the plans are used, and how the organization manages risk. 

 

This position is part of the IT information Security Team and will be hybrid online and located in Sunnyvale, CA.  At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with other teams within IT and in the larger business to understand their roles when security events occur
  • Take feedback from external teams and match that to industry best practices and Danaher directives to rewrite existing event response plans
  • Design a plan, organize, and participate in table top exercises of the developed plan. 

 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

 

  • working towards a Bachelor of Sciences in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Relevant information security industry knowledge is a plus.
  • High level understanding of security frameworks, standards, best practices (e.g. NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and security assessment tools and methodologies 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Course work in information Security practices
