Medical Scientific Literature Research Officer Intern

The Medical/Scientific Literature Research Officer Intern is responsible for evaluating cutting-edged medical and scientific literature and providing meaningful insights to inform competitive intelligence, with the ultimate goal of enabling strategic decision at Cepheid. This position provides the opportunity to master the modern literature in the realm of molecular diagnostics and provide a strong foundation for future growth as a Medical/Scientific professional. 

 

This position is part of the Medical Science Affairs department and will be a remote roleAt Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Track competitive intelligence through literature and publication scan at a regular cadence.
  • Enable communication and routine maintenance of gathered datasets and produce meaningful insights to enable key stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding Cepheid’s products and publication strategies.
  • Work with Medical/Scientific Affairs team to provide key insights into competitive activity. 

The essential requirements of the job include: 

 

  • A Masters of Science degree or Medical Residency. Post-graduate experience may be considered in lieu of Academic credential.
  • Proven experience in literature reviews and/or the ability to synthesis relevant, contemporaneous scientific/medical information (e.g. review articles published in peer-reviewed journals, white papers, patten submissions). 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a life-sciences industry. Additional academic credentials may be considered in lieu of post-graduate experience. 

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in molecular diagnostic and/or PCR-based biotechnologies is preferred.
  • Other experience with literature searches, literature search engines (e.g. Pubmed) and assimilation of scientific/medical literature. 
  • Experience with various literature databases and literature curation software to aggregate intelligence (e.g Resolute AI, Up-to-Date, Seismic).
