Nurse internship/Student Nurse

The Berkshire Soccer Academy is an overnight camp for Girls only, located in beautiful western Massachusetts. For the summer we are looking for a student Nurse take a lead role in our Health Center. Student nurses will manage the day-to-day operation of our health center and will work closely with and will be provided guidance by our Head Nurse (RN) and the Camp Directors. A typical day for the Health Center staff may begin as early as 7:00AM and end as late as 10:00PM. All staff receive regularly schedules breaks, as well as 1 scheduled day off for every 6 working days. Under the supervision of our Head Nurse, our student nurse’s responsibilities include:

1) Caring for ill or injured patients who are admitted to the Health Center;

2) Reviewing camper health history forms prior to camper arrival;

3) Sorting and dispensing medication to campers; (Will be provided training and skill verification)

4) Responding to any "emergency" which may arise at camp;

5) Maintaining health logs for each camper and staff member;

6) One member of the health staff will be “on-call” every night

7) Assist in In-take of all campers on Arrival Day; this includes a health screening and lice check

Job Qualifications based on our Service Standards:

• CNA or equivalent certification.
• Ideally have 2+ years of practical health care experience (Clinical rotations or Assisted living environments acceptable experience)
• Must enjoy working with kids, ages 10-18, and their families
