Supplier Quality Engineering Internship

Job Description:

You will be joining a Quality Engineering team that provides new product introduction, manufacturing, and quality control expertise to aid in the production of components/assemblies for our award-winning Monarch Tractor. Our Supplier Quality Engineering Interns conduct valuable projects contributing directly to the success of our products.  

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in establishing criteria for Part Inspection Standards and contribute to the development of measurement strategies with suppliers.
  • Support communication between Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams for technical requirements and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Participate in supplier audits to evaluate capabilities in meeting part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
  • Assist in planning and organizing supplier manufacturing process development for new products, using APQP and PPAP methodologies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on PFMEA to identify and resolve potential risks through robust process controls.
  • Assist in developing non-conforming part review procedures and contribute to material disposition.
  • Participate in problem-solving for production/quality issues using methodologies like 8D, 5Why, and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Provide input on new materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction and contribute to supplier improvements.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • B.S. or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Interest in supplier quality engineering and familiarity with concepts like APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Basic proficiency in reviewing manufacturing quality procedures.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize information for effective communication.
  • Exposure to GD&T, measurement, and inspection techniques.
  • Interest in automotive or agricultural manufacturing is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office suite; exposure to SolidWorks is advantageous.
