Program Intern (Gap Year Internship)

Purpose:

Do you want the opportunity to grow as a leader, manage real responsibilities for a growing ministry, and invest in others while being poured into yourself? At Seneca Hills, our program interns get the opportunity to manage the "big picture" aspects of the program: assisting the program director in recruiting, event and wilderness trip planning, mentoring and leading staff, and strategic planning.

Our interns live in camp-provided housing and have access to a fully functional kitchen (included home-cooked meals when retreat groups are on campus), wi-fi, our 240+ acres of wilderness, miles of developed trails, our indoor climbing room and rec center, and more. This role will give you experience with the technical skills involved in ministry; planning retreats, leading book and bible studies, recruiting, and developing leaders. You will also experience in crucial soft skills, such as problem solving, communication, decision making and more that are crucial to success long after summer camp is over.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran of camp ministry looking for your next adventure, or eager to fine-tune your calling and see where you're being led next, the Program Internship at Seneca Hills is a great place to start!

Our Goals

1. Encourage students or recent graduates to explore their gifts, potential career interests, and God's call in their lives.

2. Provide a setting with a steady stream of fresh ideas, enthusiasm, accountability, and guidance.

3. Allow interns to observe the fundamentals of good leadership and healthy public communication.

4. Provide a safe place for interns to develop and try new strategies that move our vision forward.

5. Allow students to gain an understanding of how a non-profit operates.

6. Provide interns with an opportunity to develop professional behavior.

7. Allow the student to gain practical insight and understanding into a variety of camp and business operations.
