The West Contra Costa Public Education Fund (Ed Fund) seeks a VISTA AmeriCorps team member to join our team as our Operations Associate.

The candidate will work across the organization to do the following:

Develop programs, initiatives, and partnerships to improve the Ed Fund’s impact on students and families to support them in achieving their fullest potential.

  • Support WCCUSD and community partners to grow their capacity to support students.
  • Strengthen and align data, services, and communications for students and families.
  • Outreach to WCCUSD schools to promote Ed Fund programs.
  • Establish and maintain communication and relationships with all program participants and donors.
  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining relationships with partners and project
  • participants.
  • Assisting with project recruitment (for scholarships, etc.) and contract processes.
  • Work with organizations to collect data and compile reports as required.
  • Provide capacity to Ed Fund fiscal projects to enable programs to maximize their impact on the community.

Through effective systems, creation, and support, ensure that the Ed Fund provides the highest level of services across the organization. This includes development, programs, operations, and communications.

  • Work to secure new funding for projects that support the equity statement.
  • Support fund prospecting for fiscal projects and WCCUSD initiatives
  • Support writing and editing for grant reports and external communications
  • Provide logistical support for Ed Fund projects and programs.
  • Create internal systems to track and manage projects and participants.
  • Coordinate communications with Ed Fund staff to ensure program winners are publicized to the community.
  • Support systems for tracking, evaluating, and selecting grant recipients, scholarship winners, and Teaching Excellence Award winners.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team by developing content that highlights projects.
  • Preparing and filing forms and other documents to support the fiscal sponsorship program.

This is a full-time, exempt position working 40 hours/week.

Desired Competencies & Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 3 years in an administrative role or a related position
  • Strong ability to work independently and drive projects forward with limited day-to-day management
  • Comfort working in a hybrid work environment
  • Strong and rigorous attention to detail and highly organized
  • Experience with building, implementing, and following processes and systems
  • Computer skills, including Google Workspace & MS Office Suite
  • Data management and analysis experience
  • Experience or desire to learn about nonprofit finance
  • Experience or desire to learn about best practices for strong data security
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to or experience working in West Contra Costa County is a plus
