Promoting professional practice through clinical and educational seminars, this residency lasts one year and begins after your new nurse orientation ends. You will reflect on clinical experiences in supportive groups and share your insights with your peers. Program curriculum is focused on leadership development, quality of care, patient safety and outcomes, evidence-based practice and the professional role of a nurse.

New nursing graduates at St. Peter's Hospital participate in our Nurse Residency Program (NRP), designed to ease the transition from student nurse to professional nurse. St. Peter's Health Partners hosts monthly, three-hour sessions that begin during your first week in nursing orientation and run for the entire first year of your practice. Successful completion of the Nurse Residency Program additionally secures an internal promotion from RNI to RNII.

If you are looking to build your skills and confidently move into the Critical Care space or the OR, then our Pathway Programs are built to ensure your success!
