The Opportunity:  Data Management Intern

• Assist with the implementation of technical solutions and workflows to support Ascend’s executive membership operations.
• With a data focus, develops policies and standards to ensure data quality and has overall accountability for data quality in a specific subject area.
• Provide entry-level data management services such as database cleaning, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Curate and upload program recordings/assets into the resource library, ensuring accurate labeling, categorization, and accessibility.
• Assist in backend page creation through research and platform tools, ensuring user-friendly platform cohesion in collaboration with the team.
• Assist senior staff in creating reports, metrics, dashboards to help support organizational data management and governance efforts
• Proactively suggest and collaborate with the team on relevant improvements or corrections to processes, procedures or plans. 
• Key stakeholders include Manager of Executive Engagement, technology vendors, as well as a range of professional and executive volunteer talent.

Candidate Profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Management, or related field; graduate students preferred
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interface with management and staff at all levels with a professional demeanor
• Apply technical skills to systems and data to bring insight and process improvement to business issues.
• Ability to design and communicate clear processes, and an analytical, yet creative, approach to problem solving
• Strong proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel required, graphic design skills highly desirable
• Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, and Python preferred
• Positive personal attitude that includes action-oriented, flexible, with a willingness to adapt to changing situations and having a good sense of humor
• Passion for the mission and values of Ascend

Employment Details:

• Internships are offered as unpaid 
• Schedule commitment is 10-20 hours weekly for a minimum of 8 weeks. 
• Work can be done primarily asynchronously.  Some flexibility to meet during weekdays with team is required
• Ascend is a remote organization with a highly collaborative geographically distributed team. This position will be based remotely in the United States
