Announcement Information

Part-Time non-eligible summer employee positions are not part of the Oakland County Merit System.  These positions are limited to 520 hours during the summer months.  This position will be working from Mid-April 2024 to Mid-September 2024.

Job Summary

Under close supervision, performs entry level clerical work following standardized, well defined departmental office procedures. May perform the following tasks depending on the assigned area: maintains filing systems for departmental records and documents, types, proofreads, answers phones, does data entry, copying and mail processing, assists in basic record keeping and calculation assignments, copy’s and/or performs other routine clerical work as assigned. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments. When assigned to Children’s Village the worker will also be expected to accurately complete assigned tasks during irregularly scheduled or extended work hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Special Requirements

 

1.       WHEN ASSIGNED TO HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

 Must submit to immunizations as required by the Department of Health & Human Services and submit to a tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray, at County expense.
 

 2.       CHILDREN’S VILLAGE

Before beginning employment, candidates will be required to provide Children’s Village with documentation from the Michigan Department of Human Services (previously called Family Independence Agency) that they have not been named in a central registry case as the perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect.  In addition, applicants being considered for hire will be asked to sign a form authorizing Children’s Village to request and receive a criminal history check in accordance with the privacy act of 1974.  

Applicants for positions at Children’s Village will not be considered if they have been convicted of either of the following:
 

  1. Child Abuse or Neglect.
  2. A felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire.


3.     WHEN ASSIGNED TO PROSECUTING ATTORNEY’S OFFICE & SHERIFF’S OFFICE 
A criminal background check will be conducted before employment begins. Information obtained during the background check will be considered in the hiring decision.
