Summer 2024 Treasury Intern

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Cash Flow
The Treasury department plays a central role in the finances of the company. Treasury is a relatively small team with a wide range of responsibilities including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, foreign currency risk management, interest rate risk management, management of Salesforce’s Investments, capital raising, and bank relationship management. Due to the diversity of these responsibilities, we interact closely with all areas of the finance organization. We are a collaborative and tightly knit team that encourages learning and development. An internship with the Salesforce Treasury team would be a valuable experience for any university student with a desire to learn everything about how a large multi-national company manages their cash and financial risks.

Capital Markets 

You will be an integral part of the Capital Markets team within the Treasury function of the CFO’s Finance organization. In addition to working closely with other Treasury teams like investment management, cash flow forecasting and operations, you will build relationships with cross-functional partners to drive success in strategic capital structure and corporate finance related projects.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cash Flow Intern: You will be responsible for the completion of several exciting and challenging projects covering cash flow forecasting. Projects include working on a Payroll Artificial Intelligence forecasting project, updating the Salesforce org chart/entity structure for upper management, improving a Tableau cash flow dashboard, creating peer benchmarking analysis of key metrics, and much more. Your responsibilities will also include providing general support for the Treasury Capital Markets team. You will be presenting to the team on your learnings and impact at the end of the internship. By the end of the summer, you will have a general understanding of how a Fortune 500 corporate treasury team functions.

Capital Markets Intern: You will be responsible for the completion of several exciting and projects covering areas including capital markets transactions, capital structure and allocation, bank and rating agency relationships, reporting, analytics and other related activities.

Through financial modeling and capital structure planning, you will provide key insights to executive management to support the strategic direction of Salesforce.

You will be presenting to the team on your learnings and impact at the end of the internship.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Current sophomore/rising junior (graduation spring 2026) pursuing a bachelors' degree in economics, business, accounting, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent teamwork & communication skills
• Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic
• Enthusiastic self-starter
• Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint
• Flexibility surrounding change
