Industrial Engineer Summer Intern

 

Robbinsville, NJ: On-Site

 

Full-Time Position: June 3rd – August 9th

The Industrial Engineering Intern will work on targeted projects individually or in small teams. Projects may require operational observations, data collection/analysis, cross functional communication and problem solving. All projects will be presented to the Operational Excellence staff upon completion and a broader leadership group for their major assigned project. The internship will include assignments on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the opportunity to network with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in evaluating and determining best methods for material handling processes

• Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow process, staff requirements. and production standards.

• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting and computer applications.

• Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed

• Assist in providing technical and operational support as needed.

• Study operations sequence, material flow, organization charts and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.

• Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and equipment

• Draft and document standard operating procedures for warehouse tasks and functions 

• Conduct observations and time studies on warehouse floor to implement engineered standards

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Rising Sophomore/Junior pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.

• Sold analytical skills and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.

• Handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Outlook, Excel and Word.
